Dear Readers,
Closing the curtains on the fastest network tussle between various Telcos, TRAI ( Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has released the official figures about who is the topper when it comes to fastest speed in 4G. Recently, there was a great tussle between Jio and Airtel who claimed their network is the fastest in India.
According to report from TRAI, Reliance Jio has averaged a download speed of 18.48 mega bytes per second (Mbps) which is almost double of what other competitors like Airtel, Vodafone etc are providing. Previous month, Jio had a speed of 16.48 Mbps.
Few months back, Mukesh Ambani had released a press statement in which he told that Reliance Jio is working from all angles to establish itself as the best network in India. Establishing new towers, reducing the data wastage, appending the signals etc were the plans in their list. It seems that these plans are working out now.
In second position is the Airtel with an average download speed of 6.57 Mbps, but this is 1 Mbps less than the previous month figures. With 6.14 Mbps, Vodafone is in third position by pipping Idea to 4th which has a figure of 5.9 Mbps during the same reporting period. Aircel was in 5th Position with a figure of 2.01 Mbps followed by state-run BSNL with a speed of 1.99 Mbps.
One of the main reasons for increase in Reliance Jio's performance in speed is attributed to decline in the several million users who did not recharge after ending free period. If Jio works further to improve all factors in relation to enhancing signal availability, there is no doubt that Jio will remain as the topper in this section for next few months.
