If you are living in a hostel or any other facility where a lot of people around you, it could happen that your network password might get shared among others without your knowledge. When many users get attached to a single jiofi wifi network, it is common that you might experience slow speeds in spite of a strong signal.
Unlike mobile Hotspots, you can't find out how many users are using your wifi at a given time. The only way is to visit the network status page through the URLs http://jiofi.local.html or http://192.168.225.1. Please follow the below mentioned procedure to monitor how many active users are using your jiofi network at a given time.
Procedure to check number of active users in Jiofi
Unlike mobile Hotspots, you can't find out how many users are using your wifi at a given time. The only way is to visit the network status page through the URLs http://jiofi.local.html or http://192.168.225.1. Please follow the below mentioned procedure to monitor how many active users are using your jiofi network at a given time.
Procedure to check number of active users in Jiofi
Step-1: Start your Jiofi device and connect to a PC or a mobile by using the wifi SSID and password. (Note: These can be seen from the outer package box of new jiofi device and in case if you have lost the box, open the battery and you will find these details on the jiofi device).
Step-2: After connecting your PC or mobile with the wifi network of your Jiofi device, now open a web browser ( we recommend Chrome for better user experience) and enter one of the following URLs http://jiofi.local.html or http://192.168.225.1.
Step-3: As soon as you click enter, you will see a network status page. Interestingly, in this page, you can only see the number of clients attached in the second column. Refer to the number below a text "Number of clients attached:".
If you want to know more details, about the attached users, you will have to login to your user account.
Step-4: To login into your network user account, click on the login button located on the right top corner of the page.
Step-5: A login window will open. Enter the username and password and click login button. (Note: If you are login in for the first time, use "administrator" as both the username and password. Check out our previous post about changing the login username and password by clicking here.)
Step-6: After logging in, click on the Network tab as shown in below picture.
Step-7: Now, click on the " Client List " tab on the left side bar as shown below.
Step-8: Once you click on the Client List tab, you will find more details about the active users attached to your Jiofi wifi network at any given time. Using MAC address, you can block and deny access to any user. The procedure to deny access using MAC address will be provided in a separate post.
