Jio to rule IOT market along with Samsung

Reliance Jio Infocomm has partnered with Samsung Electronics to set up a nationwide IoT (Internet of Things) network. With this partnership, both these companies are planning to reach 99% of Indians with the latest LTE technology.

The IoT network is a tool to synchronise the consumer and enterprise uses which includes vehicle tracking, smart appliances, smart metering, security and surveillance. Reliance Jio claims that this is a solid path for materialising a fully digital India where IoT will reach every corner. “ We are delighted to contribute to Jio's success story and rapid growth. We have been striving to offer the best experience possible to all users at Jio.”, said Youngky Kim, Samsung Electronics President and Head of Networks Business.

Jio is also working on the launch of a broadband-powered home automation system that entails the installation of six-seven smart plugs. With this, users can use their smart phone and tablets to control their home. To check the things on the floor, the company has started a trial scheme of fibre to home in few selected places. Reliance Jio is also in the process of launching a home surveillance package, comprising a smart camera, smart doorbell, smart lock and chime alarm. These products will be managed by the user’s mobile devices.

Mr. Ayush Sharma has been appointed as the Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technology for Reliance Jio, in order to drive its IoT business along with other technologies including mobile edge computing, distributed artificial intelligence and block chain.
