How to check in which devices your Jio SIM is being used?

The mobile network providers will have complete data about the users including the location history of a given mobile number. Similarly, Reliance Jio too have full details of its users. But, for the first time, Jio has updated its Myjio application recently to display information related to the type of mobile device using a given Jio SIM. This is indeed a cool feature.

This information is helpful in many ways. Suppose that you have shared your Jio SIM with any family member or friend, now you can track in which device they are using this SIM. Also, in an unfortunate case of losing your Jio SIM, you can also check if your SIM is being used by someone else and in which device. You can even know the brand name of the mobile in which your Jio SIM is being used. In fact, you can use this procedure to check the device name of any given Jio number, but don't worry, they can only know your mobile manufacturer name, nothing else.

Here is the step by step procedure:

Step-1:

Login to MyJio application with relevant credentials of Jio SIM. In the main page, you will find the device name for your main SIM in the My Account section. However, if you wanted to check the device name for other Jio SIM numbers, proceed to the next step. Now Select "More Options" button located in top left corner as shown below.

Step-2:

Now select the third option "Recharge".

Step-3:

Now select the second option "Recharge For Another Number".

Step-4:

In the new screen, by default, "Mobile and Jiofi" will be selected in the choose what you want to recharge section. If anything else is selected, make sure that you select "Mobile and Jiofi" from the dropdown list. Then enter the Jio mobile number and click "Submit" button.

Step-5:

A new screen will be displayed with the list of all Jio numbers linked to the Aadhaar number registered with the SIM. You can find the devices last used displayed against each number as shown below.

How to know which Jio numbers linked to your Adhaar card?

Reliance Jio is the first telecom company which adopted and started full e-KYC through the linking and verification of Aadhaar numbers. At the time of purchasing a new Jio SIM, it is compulsory to provide your Aadhaar card number and get the fingerprint verification done at the Jio outlets. Later on, all the telecoms started this procedure, after government made it a mandatory step.

This Aadhaar based KYC compliance system made the registration process simple and effective. In simple terms, each Jio number is linked to one or other Aadhaar number. The Aadhaar management Authority, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India ) has several times issued press releases and assured about the safety of Aadhaar biometric details. In spite of this, there is a big section of Indians who are not fully convinced about the effectiveness of this system. If you are one from this section, it is natural that you will be concerned about someone buying a Jio SIM in your Aadhaar details and using the SIM for illegal purposes.

In this post, we are going to discuss how one can know the list of Jio numbers linked to his Aadhaar number. There are two methods to complete this task. The first method is by trying to add a new link account where you will find a list of all Jio numbers linked to your Aadhaar number. If for some reasons, you find technical difficulties in the first method, you have one more method. In this second method, we try to recharge and will find the list. Both the methods yield the same results. Hence, we leave the choice to the wise readers.

Even though, you have only one Jio SIM, we recommend that occasionally you check if any other number is linked to your Aadhaar number. Before we begin, let us tell the readers that to use this procedure, the user must have at least one active Jio SIM.

First Method - " By adding a new link account to your Jio number "

Step-1:

Login to MyJio application with relevant credentials of Jio SIM linked to your Aadhaar number. In the home page, click on 'Link New Account' under the "My Account" section.

Step-2:

In the new screen, you will find the list of all Jio numbers linked against your Aadhaar number. There will be message reading "The following numbers are linked to your Aadhaar number. Select from below number(s) to add to your account" and the linked numbers will be displayed below this message, if any. If no number is listed, that means you don't have any other Jio numbers utilising your Aadhaar card.

Second Method - " By trying to recharge a Jio number "

Step-1:

Login to MyJio application with relevant credentials of Jio SIM linked to your Aadhaar number. In the main page, select "More Options" button located in top left corner as shown below.

Step-2:

Now select the third option "Recharge".

Step-3:

Now select the second option "Recharge For Another Number".

Step-4:

In the new screen, by default, "Mobile and Jiofi" will be selected in the choose what you want to recharge section. If anything else is selected, make sure that you select "Mobile and Jiofi" from the dropdown list. Then enter the jio mobile number which is linked to your Aadhaar number. and click "Submit" button.

Step-5:

A new screen will be displayed with the list of all jio numbers linked to your Aadhaar number. On the top, your main mobile number will be displayed and below that you will find a list of other Jio numbers linked to your Aadhaar number. If no number is displayed, it means no other jio number is linked to your Aadhaar number.

Special Advice:

If you happen to find a unknown jio number in the list, immediately contact Jio customer support team and deactivate the number. To be on safer side, we suggest that you also lodge a complaint with full details at the nearest police station, so that any illegal issues will not bounce back on you.

How to activate or redeem Jio Vouchers?

One of the exceptional features of Reliance Jio is an aspect to deal the transactions in the form of vouchers. Vouchers have become popular among Jio users owing to its flexibility of use and ability to gift by transferring to friends. These vouchers are no different to gift cards that you buy and gift to your loved ones and friends.

In fact Jio company too occasionally gifts vouchers to its users in the form of discounts and add-on data. These type of vouchers are usually non-transferable to others. You will find a note in red whenever a voucher is non-transferable. But you can buy vouchers and gift them.

Irrespective of if a voucher is transferable or non-transferable, you can activate the voucher with a simple procedure. You can activate a voucher any time. In this post, we intend to explain about how to activate the available vouchers.

Step-1:

Open the MyJio application and login with credentials relevant to the Jio number for which voucher history is to be checked.

Step-2:

From the main page, click on the 'Additional Options' tab at the top left corner indicated in the form of three horizontal small lines as shown below

Now click on the first option labelled as "My Vouchers".

Step-4:

A new window will open with a list of vouchers available under your Jio number. In order to activate a voucher, just click on the 'Redeem' button against respective voucher and confirm the redemption. For example, i have a free voucher of 5GB data add on obtained from KBC Play Along matches. Once i redeem this voucher, i must be able to get the 5GB added into my account.

Step-5:

Now, you should be able to see a message confirming the redemption details of your Jio voucher. The message usually contains info as "Jio number ********* has been successfully recharged. Your transaction ID is ***********.

Follow the same procedure for every voucher redemption. Note that the 5GB data add on is shown in the screen upon successful redemption.
