How to avail Jio Holiday Hungama Offer

Once again Reliance Jio has given one more chance for its users to cherish, this time with a new offer called Holiday Hungama offer. You can get a flat Rs. 100 cash back to users who recharge their phones with the prepaid recharge plan of Rs. 399. With this discount, the effective price of its 'highest-selling' prepaid recharge plan of Rs. 399 reduces to Rs. 299.

That means, now you can enjoy a total of 186 GB high speed data for 84 days at just Rs 299. But, this Holiday Hungama offer is a limited period scheme and will run from June 1 to June 15, Jio said in a press release. "It is launched as it is holiday season and Jio wishes to make it easier for people to recharge on the go and make the most of these holidays," Jio said.

The users who have an active plan already can also subscribe to this new offer, it will be lined up for future use. The 100 Rs cashback availing process is made available in two steps as listed below:

In first part, Rs. 50 instant discount will be provided automatically for Jio prepaid users when they click the recharge option in MyJio application.

To avail the second part of Rs. 50 instant cashback, users will have to select PhonePe as the medium of recharging for remaining 349 Rs, upon successful recharge, a Rs 50 instant cashback will be added to the PhonePe account.

Now, let us go through the step by step procedure for availing this offer:

1. First Log on to My Jio app and click on Recharge tab

2. Select Rs 399 prepaid plan and Click on 'Buy' button to move to Payment Page ( Here you will see Rs 50 instant discount).

3. Now, Select PhonePe Wallet as your payment option

4. Sign in to your PhonePe account after confirming  your number and OTP

5. Pay for net payable amount using your PhonePe Wallet and get Rs 50 discount to the 

PhonePe account within 24 hours of successful recharge.

Please note that this offer can be availed only by the first time users who are using PhonePe for the first time using MyJio app or Jio website. This offer can be availed only once per user during the offer period.

Sleep Mode Adjustments in Jiofi - Updated

What is Sleep Mode?

Sleep Mode is a tool usually provided in almost all recent smart electronic devices to enable the device avoid unnecessary battery wastage. You can see this feature in almost all smart electronic devices available in market today ranging from your mobile, TV, Laptop, smart kitchen accessories like chimneys, water heaters, water purifiers, smart lighting system etc.

Just like other smart electronic accessories, Jiofi device also has sleep mode. The prime objective is to save battery when the jiofi device is left unused for a preset amount of time. By default, a jiofi device comes with the sleep mode turned on with a preset options like 10 to 60 minutes of idle time.

How to enable and adjust sleep mode in Jiofi

Follow the below listed step by step procedure for successfully enabling or disabling the sleep mode and to set a desired sleep timer.

Step-1: Start your Jiofi device and connect to a PC or a mobile by using the wifi SSID and password. (Note: These can be seen from the outer package box of new jiofi device  and in case if you have lost the box, open the battery and you will find these details on the jiofi device).

 

Step-2: After connecting your PC or mobile with the wifi network of your Jiofi device, now open a web browser ( we recommend Chrome for better user experience) and enter one of the following URLs http://jiofi.local.html or http://192.168.225.1.

Step-3: A page will open with lot of numbers and data. Don't worry, just click on the login button located on the right top corner of the page.

Step-4: A login window will open. Enter the username and password and click login button. (Note: If you are loggin in for the first time, use "administrator" as both the username and password. Check out our previous blog about changing the login username and password by clicking here.)

Step-5: After logging in, click on the Network tab as shown in below picture.

Step-6: Now, click on the " Wi-Fi Configuration" tab on the left side bar.

Step-7: Now you will see a list of details. The seventh row will show you the sleep mode tick box option. With this, you can either enable or disable the sleep mode. If you decide to go with the sleep mode enabled option, In the next row ( eight row), the sleep mode timer is available with 4 pre-set options of 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 60 minutes. Select the choice of your sleep timer. Click on the Save button on the bottom.

Step-8: Once you click save button, a message will appear indicating that the jiofi connection will be interrupted and jiofi will reboot to set these changes. Go ahead and click OK. That's it.

All about New Rs 199 Jio Postpaid Plan

Good news for the postpaid customers of Reliance Jio has been announced in the form of lowest monthly rental plan in the Indian telecom sector at just Rs 199. This new post-paid Rs 199 plan announced by Reliance Jio is expected to intensify tariff war in the postpaid segment of telecom sector. With its innovative and cheaper prepaid plans, Jio has successfully added millions of customers in the shortest time. Now, the company has eyed the postpaid segment.

The new 199 post paid plan offers a total of 25GB high speed data along with unlimited free voice calls and SMS services. After exhausting the 25GB limit, the customers can purchase additional high speed data at Rs 20 per GB in case they wish so. This new offer is available for postpaid customers from 15th of May 2018.

This new plan will be available for both new and existing customers. In case of new customers, a refundable security deposit of Rs 250 has to be paid along with Rs 99 for the prime subscription. However, if you are an existing customer, just opt for change of plan and pay appropriate deposit suiting to your new plan and adjustable for your previous plan.

The market analyst group from JP Morgan has speculated that this move could extend and intensify the already existing brutal tariff cut in the post-paid regime, hurting incumbents further. It has also noted that Jio's post-paid tariffs are sharply lower compared to the current tariff plans offered by incumbents.

Along with this new post paid plan, Jio has also announced an ISD calling service at a starting price of 50 paise per minute and international roaming rates starting just at Rs 2.  "International tariffs offered by Jio are quite competitive and we could see downward pressure on such tariffs for incumbents. However, even in a scenario where we assume 10-15 per cent of postpaid revenues are from international calls, and international tariffs get cut by 50 per cent, the impact on overall revenue of incumbents is likely to be less than 2 per cent," Goldman Sachs said.

One more benefit of opting for the new jio postpaid plan of Rs 199 is that it comes with default ISD service activated. Just recharge the ISD plan and enjoy international calls at cheapest rates as low as 50 paise per minute.
