Reliance Jio has managed to forge a partnership with SanFrancisco-Headquartered Uber taxi hailing company to allow users to pay Uber charges with JioMoney Wallet. Slowly JioMoney is expanding its reach into all sectors including banking, shopping, cinema, hotels etc.

Uber is the leading taxi service provider in India with thousands of taxis in its umbrella readily available to the users. With the introduction of freebies from Reliance Jio, more than 100 million customers have joined the Jio Network and enjoying various freebies since last 2 quarters. Jio enters Automobile Telematics Sector

Reliance Jio has entered an agreement with US-Based Airwire Technologies to manufacture "Car Connect Devices" for customers in India. The product is planned to start in India in association with the technology from Airwire. With this, it is revealed now that Jio is planning to enter Automobile telecommunication sector as well.

"Jio’s agreement with AirWire provides the connected car device platform in the vehicle for our connected car initiative, Jio Car Connect. Driving, owning, maintaining and securing the vehicle will now fundamentally change with Jio Car Connect and the AirWire device,” the Jio spokesperson said.

The device will operate in the Telco's pan-India advanced 4G/LTE network enabling connect car apps and services such as Wi-Fi hotspot features, location based apps, automobile telematics . This car connected device that will have multiple features like immobilize car at the time of theft, alert owner about car movement, locate car and also provide Wi-Fi within car. The owner needs to use Jio sim in the device to avail benefits,” an industry source said.
