How To Change Jiofi SSID Password?

It is very important to change the default password for your jiofi network to a secret code to restrict unwanted access. The reason is simple, the default password is always available on the jiofi package box and on the back side of Jiofi. It is wise to change the password once you buy the new Jiofi.

Procedure to Change Jiofi SSID Password

Follow the below listed step by step procedure for successfully changing the default jiofi network password to a password of your choice.

Step-1: Start your Jiofi device and connect to a PC or a mobile by using the default wifi SSID and password. (Note: These can be seen from the outer package box of new jiofi device  and in case if you have lost the box, open the battery and you will find these details on the jiofi device).

Step-2: After connecting your PC or mobile with the wifi network of your Jiofi device, now open a web browser ( we recommend Chrome for better user experience) and enter one of the following URLs http://jiofi.local.html or http://192.168.225.1.

Step-3: A page will open with lot of numbers and data. Don't worry, just click on the login button located on the right top corner of the page.

Step-4: A login window will open. Enter the username and password and click login button. (Note: If you are loggin in for the first time, use "administrator" as both the username and password. Check out our previous blog about changing the login username and password by clicking here.)

Step-5: After logging in, click on the Network tab as shown in below picture.

Step-6: Now, click on the " Wi-Fi Configuration" tab on the left side bar.

Step-7: Now you will see a list of details. The last row will show you the existing default SSID password. Uncheck the 'hidden' button to read and edit the password. You can edit this information and enter a new password of your choice. Better to check the 'hidden' button after you change the password. Click on the Save button on the bottom.

Step-8: Once you click save button, a message will appear indicating that the jiofi connection will be interrupted and jiofi will reboot to set these changes. Go ahead and click OK. That's it. Your new password should be active now. You can change this password any number of times. In fact, it is recommended to change the password whenever you suspect someone is accessing your wifi thus reducing the speed of your connection.
