Jio has set a new
record by reaching a top download speed of 21.9 mbps in October, that too by
breaking its own previous record of 19.12 mbps as per the recent reports from
TRAI. It is surprising to see that the next telecom operator in line is
Vodafone which has recorded a top speed of just 8.7 mbps which is low by a
staggering 60% difference.
During the tenure of nationwide free
service, Jio had problems with speed at some places of the country, but it
seems that Jio has learned and fixed all the loopholes and plugged them as it
turns out almost like a monopoly in the internet download speeds. Followed by
Jio and Vodafone, the speeds recorded by other telcos are like Idea - 8.6 mbps,
Airtel - 7.5 mbps. One more interesting factor is except for Jio, the speeds of
all other Telcos in fact has decreased by a bit compared to previous month
data.
When it comes to
upload speed, it's a different scenario. Idea topped the chart with 6.4 mpbs
upload speed, with Vodafone, Jio, Airtel achieving a speed of 5.9, 4.1 and 3.5
mbps respectively.
