CCI orders inquiry in case lodged by Jio

In response to the complaint lodged by Reliance Jio against its top competitors, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ordered a probe and sought a report within next 60 days.

Earlier, a complaint was lodged against the leading telecom operators Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and the Cellular Operators Association of India ( COAI). It was alleged that these companies could have made an internal agreements via the COAI to deny the point of connectivity to the new comer Reliance Jio.

In an probe order, the CCI has called its investigating wing "Director General (DG)" to start an investigation immediately and come up with a report in next 2 months regarding this matter.

Previous year, Reliance Jio had made severe accusations against its top competitors that they are denying connectivity points to the new telco because of which, there was a huge call failures when Jio network was used to call other telco numbers. While the accused telcos had denied this accusations, but Jio kept on insisting on its claims and started publicly announcing the monthly figures about how much call failures have happened in its official website. Now Jiofi3 devices in multiple colors

Jio-Samsung Double Data offer

What is Jio-Samsung Double Data offer?

This offer is effective from 1st May 2017 and valid up to 31st December 2017. In this offer, any jio user (existing or new) with a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ phone can get a free additional double data for every recharge done with Rs 309 plan or above.

For example, between the offer period ( 01-05-2017 to 31-12-2017), if you recharge a Rs 309 offer with your Jio SIM in the Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ device, you will get double the data volume of original offer. For 309 recharge, you will get 28 GB + 28 GB extra.

However, this offer too comes with following limitations:

1. Offer applicable only for handsets purchased in India.
2. Offer of one handset is fixed to one Jio SIM. You can't avail the benefit if SIM is used with other S8 or S8+ handsets. Because, the IMEI number of each device will be synchronized with the Jio SIM number.
3. The double data offer benefits can be availed only for 8 continuous recharges within the offer period.
4. The additional extra benefit will be added to the offer account within 48 hours of original recharge.
