Indicating its sustained growth, Reliance Jio has acquired a market share of 9.29% thus officially becoming the India's 4th largest mobile service provider.
In the month of March 2017, Reliance Jio has acquired a total of 5.8 million subscribers to gain the 4th Spot. In the same period, Airtel, Idea and BSNL have got subscriber base of 2.99 million, 2.09 million and 2.07 million respectively.
The other major tel-cos like Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have maintained a market share of 23.39%, 17.87% and 16.70% respectively to achieve the first, second and third place.
In spite of being the leader in acquiring customer base, the UBS Securities Asia has signaled at the decline in the rate of subscriber additions. The reason is the TRAI report statistics which reveal that the number of subscribers have drastically come down to 5.8 millions for March 2017, compared with that of 12.2 million in Feb-2017 and 18.48 million in Jan-2017.
So, doubts are raising if Jio's growth is slowing down? If yes, Jio will have to do some more magic with new offers to keep the momentum going.
