Useful Tips for JioPhone2 Flash Sale



This post is about few tips which come in handy while ordering a JioPhone2 during one of the flash sales. The first JioPhone2 flash sale was conducted at 12 PM on the 16th of August 2018. If for any reasons, you could not order a new Jiophone2 during first flash sale, do not worry. The company has already revealed the date of its second flash sale which is scheduled on 30th August 2018 starting from 12PM. You can order for a new JioPhone2 from www.jio.com or from MyJio application.

Tip-1:
Login 5-10 minutes before start of launch. Say for example, if the flash sale is going to be started from 12PM, we suggest you to login few minutes earlier so that you do not end up with failed page loading. Few users might have experienced this as there is a huge rush during this time and wherever there is a weak signal, the pages might load very slowly or sometimes fail to load because of heavy traffic at a time.

Tip-2:
Keep the PINCODE of your location ready, do not waste time using Google o find it when required to save precious time.

Tip-3:
Make sure you keep the payment details ready. Whatever may be the mode of payment you want to use, keep the details like Credit card number, CVV, Expiry date etc ready. If you are using net banking, make sure you have the mobile ready for OTP. In case, you are paying through JioMoney, please make sure sufficient balance is available in the JioMoney account beforehand.

Tip-4:
Keep the delivery address details ready by entering correct details.

Tip-5:
Ensure you received a confirmation message both to your provided mobile number and email ID.

Other Points to Note:
Each new handset will come with a new Jio SIM inserted in the first slot of dual SIM slots, however you can use already existing Jio SIM card if desired. Please note that Non-Jio SIM cards cannot be used in JioPhone2 just like the case in JioPhone1.

In case, you receive a faulty or defective unit, one can request for a free home pick up of the defective unit after confirming all details from the JioPhone2 customer care number 1800-893-3399. Remember that when the company representative arrives at your address to pick up defective unit, all the accessories need to be provided to him along with the original receipt.

Reliance Jio Collaborates with SBI's YONO



Reliance Jio has announced details about its collaboration with State Bank of India's YONO platform in an official business statement in a move to further deepen its association with SBI. Both already have a joint venture of 70:30 in the Jio's online payment initiative Jio Payments Bank.

With this new collaboration, the Jio customers can avail a seamless digital and financial transactions where as SBI will enjoy a multifold increase in its digital customers using the YONO platform. For those who are new to YONO platform, it is a online digital platform owned by SBI for offering various activities like digital banking & online purchases to its customers.

Once this collaboration is completed, Jio customers can start using this platform through MyJio app for a seamless and superior customer experience. Also, the Jio Prime customers can enjoy exclusive deals from Reliance Retail, Jio and its partner brands and merchants. In addition, customers can also enjoy already existing loyalty program of SBI called 'SBI Rewardz'.


The statement also said that SBI will be engaging Jio as one of its preferred partners for designing and proving network or connectivity solutions. In future, the JioPhones can also be made available with special discount offers exclusively for SBI customers.

How to order new JioPhone2



One can order for a new JioPhone2 from www.jio.com or from Myjio application. Please note that the bookings will begin at 12PM on 16th of August 2018.

Following is the procedure to order a new JioPhone2 from both channels:

1) In the home page, select JioPhone2 option.

2)Enter the PINCODE to which delivery need to be made.

3)Proceed for order checkout.

4) Here, enter the personal details like Name, Mobile Number, Email etc

5) Now you will be shown the payment option. Select desired payment mode to proceed.

6) Complete the payment of Rs 2999 upon which you will receive a order confirmation both in mail and also a message confirmation.

Each new handset will come with a new Jio SIM inserted in the first slot of dual SIM slots, however you can use already existing Jio SIM card if desired. Please note that Non-Jio SIM cards cannot be used in JioPhone2 just like the case in JioPhone1.

All that we know about JioPhone2 so far



The launch of JioPhone2 was officially announced during the last Annual General Meet of Reliance Industries. The previous version of JioPhone was a huge hit as the company was offering the phone at almost zero price. Earlier the company had announced that the bookings for JioPhone2 will be starting August 15, but in a recent update the time has been shifted by few hours to 16th August at 12PM.

This new version of advanced 4G phone offers several interesting features including a physical keyboard in the format of QWERTY. It will also have the support of most used social media sites like facebook, YouTube, Whatsapp. The price of Reliance Jio’s second avatar of JioPhone is Rs 2,999/-. The JioPhone announced in 2017 was priced at Rs 1,500. Reliance Jio had said that this amount will be refunded to the customers after a gap of three years when they return the phone to it.


The JioPhone2 comes with a qwerty keypad- much like old Nokia Asha and Blackberry phones. It has four-way navigation keys and a mono speaker. The screen size is the same as of the JioPhone i.e 2.4-inch QVGA. The JioPhone2 is powered by Spreadtrum 9820 dual-core SoC. In term of specs, the Jio Phone and JioPhone2 are the same. Like the Jio Phone, JioPhone2 also runs on KAI operating system. The phone comes with 4GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card and 512MB RAM. Beside all these, it supports Bluetooth, FM radio, VoLTE, VoWiFi, NFC, GPS, LTE Cat4 DL: 150Mbps/UL: 50Mbps, and LTE Band 2,5,40, 2G Band 900/1800. The phone is backed by 2000mAh battery.


The registration of JioPhone2 will begin in the next couple of days on August 15. The JioPhone2 has succeeded last years’ JioPhone1. Apart from JioPhone2, the registration process for JioFiber with FTTH technology will also begin on the same date. Jio’s first feature phone – JioPhone1, which was launched last year was a huge success. Reliance has sold around 25 million units of JioPhone1 so far. Now, with JioPhone2, the telecom giant is aiming for more. The leading telecom giant has quickly made it to the top spot in the Indian feature phone market, highlighting the significance of 4G feature phones.

The JioPhone2 is powered by KaiOS. It is a web-based platform that uses open standards such as HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS. It made its India foray with JioPhone in July 2017 and gained a 15% of the mobile OS market beating Apple iOS as the second widely used in India, as per DeviceAtlas’ latest Mobile Web Intelligence Report.

Path To Success - Reliance Jio Business Updates



1. Jio has built a next generation all-IP data network with latest 4G LTE technology. It is the only network built as a Mobile Video Network and for providing Voice over LTE technology. It has built a future ready network which can easily deploy 5G and beyond technology in the last leg. Jio has created an eco-system comprising network, devices, applications and content, service experience and affordable tariffs for everyone to live the Jio Digital Life.

2. Jio has created a strong data network with infrastructure and backhaul for offering wireless services, wire line services, FTTH, Enterprise offering, IOT services and other digital services. These will lead to sustained growth in data consumption on the network.

3. Jio continues to be the most popular wireless broadband service provider in the country with its subscriber base increasing from 186.6 million as of 31-March-2018 to 215.3 million as of 30-June-2018. Net subscriber addition for the Company during the past twelve months has been 92 million, which was the highest in the industry by a substantial margin. Jio continues to have India’s largest wireless data subscriber base, with the gap widening from the other operators. The growth in subscriber base is getting further accelerated with JioPhone and attractive post-paid offerings.

4. The engagement metrics of the Jio subscribers is also the highest in the industry in India and among the highest globally as well. Average data consumption at 10.6 GB per user per month, average voice consumption at 744 minutes per user per month and average video consumption at 15.4 hours per user per month make Jio the leader in the industry across all of these service offerings. Average data consumption has grown substantially in this quarter, primarily driven by video consumption.

5. The company announced its JioGigaFiber services for Homes and Enterprise at the 41st AGM (post IPO) of RIL held on 5th July 2018. These services are being offered across 1,100 cities using Jio’s strong fibre backbone across the country integrated with nextgen network and platforms. Customers can register their interests starting 15th August 2018 upon which homes would be connected based on the requests received from the neighborhood. During the ongoing beta trials, thousands of homes have been connected to ensure gold standard service post launch.

6. Jio also launched the ‘Monsoon Hungama’ offer for JioPhone with upfront security deposit of only 501 for a new JioPhone (offered by Reliance Retail), effective 21st July 2018. The offer works in conjunction with return of an old feature phone. Also, JioPhone 2, which offers a larger screen and full QWERTY keyboard for a price of 2,999 has also been announced. JioPhone 2 would be available starting 15th August 2018. Most used social media applications like YouTube, Facebook and Whatsapp would also be available for Jio Phone users starting 15th August 2018.

7. Jio’s end-to-end all IP network is the most differentiated network with functionalities
such as SDN and NFV. It has been consistently rated as the fastest network in India by TRAI’s MySpeed application over the last 18 months with an average download speed of 18.6 Mbps during June 2018, which was almost twice the network speed available on any other network. Jio has also been consistently rated to have the widest LTE coverage in the country.

8. During the quarter, Jio launched the Zero-Touch Post-paid plan at 199/ month offering  a) unlimited voice and SMS, b) 25GB 4G data, c) pre-activated ISD calling starting at 50p/min, and d) one-click activation of international roaming at attractive rates (starting from 2/ min for voice, 2/ MB for data, 2/ SMS) without any upfront security deposit.

9. Jio’s simplified and innovative tariff plans enable its prepaid customers to have unrestricted access of Jio Digital Life. During the last quarter, Jio offered various schemes to its prepaid customers including Jio Cricket Gold Pass, Double Dhamaka for limited period, attractive cash backs on digital recharges, etc.

10. During the quarter, RIL announced a strategic transaction for acquiring Radisys, a global leader in providing open telecom solutions to service providers and telecom equipment vendors worldwide, for US$1.72 per share in cash. This acquisition would further accelerate Jio’s global innovation and technology leadership in the areas of 5G, IOT and open source architecture adoption.

How to activate International Roaming on a Jio number?



Reliance Jio has by default made the national calling completely free along with free roaming facility at national level. but users need to activate the international roaming and recharge a suitable Jio international  roaming pack to enjoy unlimited incoming and outgoing voice calls, messages and data. The procedure to activate the international roaming facility for Jio users is given below:

Procedure for Prepaid Customers - Through MyJio App:

1) Open the MyJio application
2) Under "My Recharges" section, press on 'Activate ISD/Int’l roaming' as shown in below picture.
3) Now, Select the appropriate pack as per your requirements.
4) Tap on buy and complete the payment to activate international roaming.

Procedure for Prepaid Customers - Through www.jio.com:

1) Open www.jio.com website
2) Click on ‘Quick Pay’ on the home page
3) Enter your Jio number for which IR to be activated and click on ‘International Roaming’
4) Select the IR pack & Click on ‘Buy’ to complete the payment. Post recharge your IR services will be automatically activated along with the IR pack.

Procedure for Prepaid Customers - Through Jio Store or Retailer:

You can visit our Jio store or Jio Retailer to recharge your Jio number with our International Roaming Pack

Note: International Roaming will be activated within 4 hours of buying the pack. Please ensure that your SIM is connected to Jio network during this period. Your phone will stop receiving signals once the activation process begins, thereafter kindly restart your phone for your request to be processed.

Procedure for Postpaid Customers - Through www.jio.com:

1) Click on Sign in, enter Mobile number & request for OTP. OTP will be received on your mobile, enter the OTP and Sign in.
2) Click the “Settings” Icon in Blue (Right Hand Corner)
3) Select “Manage Service”
4) Enable "IR" by sliding the button towards the Right and Click on “Submit”
5) You will get an option to either “Proceed” further to increase the Credit Limit. In case you do not wish to increase the Credit Limit Click “Not Now” option
6) You will see a message that “Your request for IR has been submitted successfully along with a Reference Number” . You will receive a Notification message once the IR service is enabled successfully

Procedure for Postpaid Customers - Through MyJio:

1) On the MyJio home screen Tap on “Activate ISD/Intl Roaming”
2) Tap on “Activate” You will see a message that “Your request for IR has been submitted successfully along with a Reference Number”
3) You will receive a Notification message once the IR service is enabled successfully
4) You will get an option increase the Credit Limit or to Purchase pack. You can select the suitable option required.
